Dim out of stock Options

When a product has and option that is out of stock the customer doesn't know that until they select it then get message. This is frustrating for the customer. Would be much better if out of stock options were shown but 'greyed out' and not able to select them. Right now all you can do is hide the option - but then the customer doesn't even know that's an option. I use the options to list supplies that are needed with the design they are purchasing. I don't want to hide those options as the customer needs to see the full list.

I've had someone custom code a "SOLD OUT" message in the dropdown list which makes things much better, but every time S4S updates the backend, the code breaks. Would LOVE to have something native within the cart to do this or something similar because customers just don't look at the "Availability" field or don't see that it changes.
